Well folks, I apologize for being MIA here for awhile. It has been quite busy over here. But I finally had a chance to sit down and do some catching up on my stuff, so I decided to drop in for a just a second. So far its been a pretty good start to the year, the weather has been decent, our local lakes (Lake Belton and Lake Stillhouse) have both caught a good bit of water from last years drought. <place w:st="on"><placetype w:st="on">Lake</placetype> <placename w:st="on">Belton</placename></place> as of today is actually 2ft above pool and Lake Still House is back up to only 10ft Low.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>With some good rain in the future I believe that our lakes will be fine and we are in for a great summer full of boating. With drought conditions last year bringing lake levels to an all time low, the pleasure boating slacked off quite a bit which caused a few carry over in our Stingray boat line (see them here <a href="http://www.texasboatworld.com/">http://www.texasboatworld.com/</a>) but so far this year with the lakes slowly climbing our 2011 inventory has slowly been decreasing. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>I’m sure that all of our local fishing guys/girls that finally managed to figure out how to fish and navigate these lakes are in part pleased to see them come back up so they can get around without so much worry. However, with the recent influx of several feet of water, the likely hood of the fish being where they were 2 days ago is slim. Now to start over again and track them down once more! Isn’t that part of the fun?</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Well I just wanted to stop in and say something about the lakes coming back up but I will not wait so long between next posts! </div>Texas Boatinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16483683080247967682noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3465012883864683738.post-54838953197451716462012-01-20T10:09:00.000-08:002012-01-20T10:09:54.978-08:00Back from the ShowSo it has been a couple weeks since I have been able to find a second to make a post. Now almost 2 weeks after the show we have all had a chance to sit down and actually reflect. This years show went a little different then we or any of the dealers had expected I believe. Unlike a lot of bigger shows, the Central Texas Boat Show is only a three day show. Attendance for Friday was up almost 20% however saturady was about even with last year and sunday was down almost 20%. It seems there is alot affecting the show and we have not been able to pin point whats slowing the show down. There are so many things to take into account, everything from the economy, lake levels, interest levels in boating and so many other things. We are defininetly going to be asking around and try to figure out what we can do to stimulate the boating in our area. Well I just wanted to drop in and give a little update on where we have been and what we have been doing. I will be back soon with a new post on something a little more along the lines of actual boating information!Texas Boatinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16483683080247967682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3465012883864683738.post-88970225736416392102011-12-29T13:39:00.000-08:002011-12-29T13:39:21.064-08:002012 Boat ShowWell, it seems like it was just the other day we were all rushing around getting ready for the 2011 boat show. Here we are again, a little more organized and significantly more prepared but still rushing around. It always seems like no matter how much you prepare for something there is always something at the last minute you remember that gets you into a panic.<br />
This year should be a great show, with Fort Hood filling back up and the economy here locally doing somewhat OK (in comparison). As long as the weather holds it should be a beautiful January 6th, 7th and 8th. We have invited a new dealer into the show, Sail and Ski out of Austin and some previous dealers you all may be familiar with to include Marine Outlet of Temple, Marine Land of Waco and Yowell's Boat Yard of Waco and of course us here at Texas Boat World out of Harker Heights. There will be a vast array of every type of boat you could want to look at for use here in Central Texas. There will be several Bass Boat lines, Stern Drive Pleasure and Deck Boats, Several lines of Pontoons, Jet Drive Boats, and True inboards as well. We will have something for everyone here. Not to mention the great deals that will be available only at the show. And to top it all of, our local Credit Union- Texas Partners- will be doing a NO PAYMENT for 90 days at the show only!! How cool is that? You can buy the boat you want in January at a great price and not even start paying for it until its time to put the boat in the water!<br />
Well, I just wanted to talk a second about the show and maybe put it in the back of your minds that this may just be the year that you have been waiting for to come out and get your new boat! If you have any questions, as always feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help in anyway possible.Texas Boatinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16483683080247967682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3465012883864683738.post-65864158597582160572011-12-09T14:33:00.001-08:002011-12-09T14:34:16.395-08:00Stingray Pleasure Boats<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
Well, here is another company that just does it right. Stingray boats, a family owned and operated business out of <state w:st="on"><place w:st="on">South Carolina</place></state> that has been building top of the line Pleasure boats since 1979. Their owner and founder Al Fink has always had a passion for excellence and a desire to make a boat that stand out above the rest. And over the years he has made the obvious in his boat line.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
If you’re a Stingray Boat owner, you know that Al’s passion can be seen in every aspect of all boats that roll out of his plant. Everything from the stainless steel hardware, the 2 inch fuel fill to the upholstery used in the production of a Stingray boat stands above and beyond most competitors boats. These are not just idle words, their actions and ranking among some of the finest boats on the water speaks for itself. For years running, Stingray has topped the list at being on of the best performing and most fuel conservative boats on the water. Through test performed by Boattest.com, Trailer Boats, Boating Magazine, Go Boating and many others; it has been proven time and time again to out perform its competitors in every way possible. (These tests can be viewed at a third party website called <a href="http://www.iboatinfo.com/">http://www.iboatinfo.com/</a>)</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
With a line up consisting of everything from an 18ft Bow Rider all the way up to a 25ft Cabin Cruiser, Stingray can fit the need of just about every pleasure boater out there. Again performance out of every boat in their line up stands out above the crowd. Even in their entry level model, the 185 standard with either a 3.0 volvo or 3.0 Mercury. Either motor you go is going to get a top end around 49mph and more then enough torque to get any skier out of the water. That is exceptional performance out an 18 in a half foot boat with 135hp. You can credit that kind of performance to their Z Plane Hull design. That design dramatically reduces drag and reduces air bubbles in the water below the boat allowing for the prop to “grab” the water better therefore increasing speed and fuel efficiency.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-indent: 0.5in;">
There is so much to be proud of when owning a Stingray boat and without experiencing the ride and performance of one for yourself, you may find it hard to believe all the hype. We do sell these boats, along with many other brands, we have sold several of the competitors boats at one point or another and it has always came back to being just Stingray. From the support you receive when owning a Stingray boat, to their overall design and quality, the boats can just about sell themselves. We’ll talk more about the company later but I thought I would just throw a quick word about what I truly believe to be one of the strongest and best quality pleasure boats available on the market right now. </div>

If you're looking for a good bass boat there are many things to consider when looking at the many lines out there. Some boast speed, some ride, fishablity and some stick with just having the cheapest line up out there. It's very rare that you find a company that has a balance of all the above. But there is one company out there that does just that. Triton Boats, founded by Earl Bentz, and they do a great job of efficiently combining everything a fisherman (or woman) is looking for out of a tournament style bass boat. <br />
Earl Bentz has been in the boating business since the mid 60's and since has developed or had a hand in developing several styles and lines of boats, ending with Triton Boats. Triton was founded in Tennessee in 1996 by Earl Bentz and has since been sold to Fish Holdings and is now located in Flippin Arkansas along with Ranger Boats (founded by Forrest L. Woods) and Stratos Boats (Founded by Earl Bentz). Triton manufactures more then just bass boats however. They also have a walleye, hybrid and bay boat line up. For now we are just going to talk about their Bass Boat line. <br />
Earl, with a history in racing boats has always wanted his boats to perform well. Todays Triton's are a far cry from what the bass boat world was back in the late 60's and even through most of the 70's. Back then, you had a 15 or 16ft boat that had a 50hp motor. Now the smallest of Triton's line up is their 17ft Explorer series capable of handling a 115hp, and range all they way up to their 21ft HP and XS design holding up to 300hp! Unlike alot of competitors out there when you look at a 17 or 20ft Triton, you are getting that and more. All Triton's are at least the ft length plus 6 inches (except the HP hull, its is even on the length in ft) and in some cases even more. <br />
I wont get into the specifics on exactly how the boat is put together right now (I will in another post), but I will say that with their LLW on the hull, transom and stringers that they know what they are doing. They us no wood in the boat at all, a zero flex stringer system and foam flotation that exceeds all Coast Guard standards. Their Dry Chine design, deflects spray from the driver and passenger's and makes for a exceptionally stable boat. From fit to finish I truly believe Triton has earned is place among the top Bass Boat brands out there!Texas Boatinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16483683080247967682noreply@blogger.com0
