How about that rain!
Well folks, I apologize for being MIA here for awhile. It has been quite busy over here. But I finally had a chance to sit down and do some catching up on my stuff, so I decided to drop in for a just a second. So far its been a pretty good start to the year, the weather has been decent, our local lakes (Lake Belton and Lake Stillhouse) have both caught a good bit of water from last years drought. Lake Belton as of today is actually 2ft above pool and Lake Still House is back up to only 10ft Low.
With some good rain in the future I believe that our lakes will be fine and we are in for a great summer full of boating. With drought conditions last year bringing lake levels to an all time low, the pleasure boating slacked off quite a bit which caused a few carry over in our Stingray boat line (see them here http://www.texasboatworld.com/) but so far this year with the lakes slowly climbing our 2011 inventory has slowly been decreasing.
I’m sure that all of our local fishing guys/girls that finally managed to figure out how to fish and navigate these lakes are in part pleased to see them come back up so they can get around without so much worry. However, with the recent influx of several feet of water, the likely hood of the fish being where they were 2 days ago is slim. Now to start over again and track them down once more! Isn’t that part of the fun?
Well I just wanted to stop in and say something about the lakes coming back up but I will not wait so long between next posts!

Back from the Show
So it has been a couple weeks since I have been able to find a second to make a post. Now almost 2 weeks after the show we have all had a chance to sit down and actually reflect. This years show went a little different then we or any of the dealers had expected I believe. Unlike a lot of bigger shows, the Central Texas Boat Show is only a three day show. Attendance for Friday was up almost 20% however saturady was about even with last year and sunday was down almost 20%. It seems there is alot affecting the show and we have not been able to pin point whats slowing the show down. There are so many things to take into account, everything from the economy, lake levels, interest levels in boating and so many other things. We are defininetly going to be asking around and try to figure out what we can do to stimulate the boating in our area. Well I just wanted to drop in and give a little update on where we have been and what we have been doing. I will be back soon with a new post on something a little more along the lines of actual boating information!

2012 Boat Show
Well, it seems like it was just the other day we were all rushing around getting ready for the 2011 boat show. Here we are again, a little more organized and significantly more prepared but still rushing around. It always seems like no matter how much you prepare for something there is always something at the last minute you remember that gets you into a panic.
This year should be a great show, with Fort Hood filling back up and the economy here locally doing somewhat OK (in comparison). As long as the weather holds it should be a beautiful January 6th, 7th and 8th. We have invited a new dealer into the show, Sail and Ski out of Austin and some previous dealers you all may be familiar with to include Marine Outlet of Temple, Marine Land of Waco and Yowell's Boat Yard of Waco and of course us here at Texas Boat World out of Harker Heights. There will be a vast array of every type of boat you could want to look at for use here in Central Texas. There will be several Bass Boat lines, Stern Drive Pleasure and Deck Boats, Several lines of Pontoons, Jet Drive Boats, and True inboards as well. We will have something for everyone here. Not to mention the great deals that will be available only at the show. And to top it all of, our local Credit Union- Texas Partners- will be doing a NO PAYMENT for 90 days at the show only!! How cool is that? You can buy the boat you want in January at a great price and not even start paying for it until its time to put the boat in the water!
Well, I just wanted to talk a second about the show and maybe put it in the back of your minds that this may just be the year that you have been waiting for to come out and get your new boat! If you have any questions, as always feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help in anyway possible.
